Black anodising brake parts.

#1 PostAuthor: toycollector10 » Tue Sep 08, 2009 4:48 am

I didn't want to paint my parts so here is the result of the anodising I had done. I didn't want to hide any of the casting detail and wanted originality.

BEFORE:

You can see the original finish on the part of the master cylinder body that has been hidden under the rubber boot for the last 35 plus years. These parts look really manky and don't want them on my bike looking like this.

DURING:

The parts have come back from the plater and are matt blue black.

AFTER:

I spent a short while using a polishing mop and white stick and then a general finish off with a plain mop. I think the finish is correct and the parts look fantastic.

Looks good TC although the photos may have been better in natural light.

I should get mine back from the anodisers here in 2 weeks.

Will post a pic when I do.

Looks good TC,

Where did you get it done and how much did it cost? I have just painted mine with P1J epoxy but suspect it wont last long.

A local plater here in Christchurch NZ did it for me for NZD $25 or GBP 10.50

Good value for money.
