Generator Cover

It has been so long since I pulled the generator cover off that I have forgotten if the oil needs to be drained first, I seem to remember that there should only be a drop left in there when the engine is stood. Can anyone enlighten me please :??

Lean it over a bit (to the right :roll: ) & it'll only dribble a bit :wink:

Yes you are right,if you lean the bike over (away from the generator) and take the cover off you will only get a little bit of oil out. Not sure what happens if you take it off with the bike on the main stand,I guess you will get a big puddle on your garage floor oops!!! :D

took mine off, left the bike on the centre stand for 10 days, i think about half a cup size puddle :cr

that was about 25p worth of oil :bawl and an oily mess :press

Shouldn't lose much, leave it on the mainstand and put a drain pan under it.
Cheap supermarket turkey roasting pans are great for this, big wide deep and cheap too
