Wow Brian, that was quick!
See what you mean, it looks a bit agricultural.
I reckon it's gotta be worth trying to grind it off as TLC says........... You for one will always know it's underneath, & I don't think you're one for compromising, seeing what you have done so far...........

Brian,
This is compulsive reading....

Please, please post up shots of all the bracing work you do as a guide to the rest of us who follow in your footsteps.

Keep up the good work fella! :D

I do not think its too big a problem losing the frame number, you can not read mine at all cos of the powder coating, but the MOT garage are fine with it and just take it off the previous mot or the log book.

Hi Bri. I'm sure you probably know this but thought i'd mention it anyway. When you re-do the bracing don't weld right up to the corner as had been previously done on the plate's you are removing. You need to leave a gap other wise it creates a high stress point. Thats why places such as the top and bottom of the pressed steel swingarm cum engine mount are left open and not coz the japs are being skimpy with the welding rod.

One of our associates in the past took key numbers from bikes parked in London squares and got copies made from a shop somewhere close by and then stole the bikes

We likened him to a horse thief and reckoned hanging was the best remedy :D
