Wow, a pretty comprehensive answer, thanks for that. I think I'll follow your gearing, if you reach 120mph in Jersey you can run out of a lot more than Puff! I'm on a similar ratio on the CBX, I ran out a quater mile sprint at the red line in 4th at about 110......Enough for me. I presume I don't need to off set as I'm using the GPZ wheel?

Offset front is down to tyre width. I have a 130 tyre pinched onto a rear 2.50J rim.
My Gpz front sprocket is dished as in 3/8 off set i guess. The 530 chain misses the 130 tyre by about 7 -10mm.
The Talon rear i bought is double sided. It can fit either way round to give you about 6 or so mm or variation between the two orientations.
Very handy for me as my sprockets dont line up as in staggered. Probably bent somewhere!!

Going back to gearing for a second. when i said it runs out of puff at 115 to 120 mph i mean at 11,000 RPM.
If you only like to rev to 9,500 youre looking at just into treble figures.
Spoke to Ray Debben about this the other day and its refusal to yang properly and he said give it 12!!

Thanks again for the gearing, I'm not sure where we are as regards offset, I'm running a 140/80/18 BT45 on the back but I think everything should still be in line as it's all comparible Kawasaki. I think the best thing is give them a ring and see what they say unless you have a..... FINAL ANSWER......

Phil it may come down to availability although there are other sprockets (other models with the same spline pattern). Talon do off-set fronts periodically but may not have any in stock. Others may have.
If you had a standard J sprocket and the 630 chain missed the tyre you should be ok with a standard 530... perhaps.

Thanks to all and B&C in particular , 530 conversion is now fitted and I thought I'd better paint the headers blue for effect
. I suppose I'd better order the brake parts and find out if it all works!
