#1 PostAuthor: baz » Wed Dec 05, 2012 4:59 pm

hi chaps, and all the best for christmas, a z900 of mine has a sprocket set up of 16t front and 45t rear, great for a standing quarter :D but then feels like top gear is missing :( don't want to touch the eng one as its offset, so any idea's on the rear please while its on the bench with the wheels off....cheers

Final drive is 2.2 : 1 standard (or is it 2.3 : 1?)- so just multiply (thats "times" ) 16 by 2.2 (or 2.3, or whatever) to get # teeth for rear
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

You'd have to drop the rear to 35 or 36T to get it anywhere near standard (15/33)

A 45 on the front and a 16 on the rear will sort out your missing top gear problem.

Glad to have been able to help.
