I got a Shindengen Reg/Rect, model SH 221-12 0.1.
Its got 4 x wires;
Yellow
Black
Yellow
White/Red
Anyone know if its any good for me Z1000 1978 :?:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Hello Pigford, dont think thats going to be much use, I think you need a regulator rectofier which you can conect 3 yellow wires to from the generator, then the red/white to conect to the battery, black to earth and brown to switched 12v, but I could be wrong. :|

I agree, think you need at least 5 wires, 3 to the stator (yellow) 1 to switched live, 1 to earth.

I put one from a newish GSXR on mine, charging with no problems, did amost the same thing on a GSX I have.

If you read some of the charging problem items around on the web, the way Kawasaki (and others) have the extra wire wired for load means there is extra power knocking around that helps to burn it all out and the battery is not getting full charge all the time.

Its alright on bikes with the lights on all the time, then all 3 windings are beiing used.
