I know Z Power had the vacuum type down as fitting all 650B/C/D/F and 1000A2/A3/A4 etc

Did your 1000 originally have the vac type when brand new davy?

Yes Crofty but I had problems with the carbs and the fuel was pissing everywhere I stripped the tap but all seemed ok so its down to the carbs,I just want to be able to shut off the fuel when I want, and not leave a petrol trail round the north of Scotland.

I might be missing the point Davy, but if your carbs have a prob, then they still will have if you change tap. Yes the fuel won't flow out if the tap is in off possy, but then if old tap appeared OK it should not let fuel past when engine not running, easily checked by pulling hose off and trying in on and reserve positions, it would let fuel flow when switched to prime.
Where was fuel pouring out of carbs from? Was it a lot, all the time or intermitent?
