Paddock stand help

#1 PostAuthor: scott » Mon Jan 04, 2010 8:58 am

Hi Guys, i hope you all had a good chrimbo?

My 78 Z1000A2 has a Metmachex deep braced swingarm (with bobbins) and also has standard 4 into 4 pipes from a 900. My trouble is finding a paddock stand that i can use that is thin enough to get in between the pipes and swingarm. Does anyone have any ideas? Surely there must be someone out there who has had a similar issue?

Scott,

have you looked at ABBA stands - pivot on the swingarm - only stand i can use with my single side swinger Z1R.

Lots of adapters so you can use it on all sorts of bikes - i also use it on the Tuono.

Hi Chris,
i have seen a abba stand being used and the only thing that put me off is the possibility of the swingarm bolt getting scratched. Does that happen with yours?

Abba is good for Zed, in fact any bike, can't comment on scratching pivot as it wouldn't notice on mine, you could always bolt a centre stand on to do the work
Baza

I had the day off from school when we did inglish.

I can't use an abba stand due to the gear selector linkage being in the way....i've got rearsets fitted (i've just remembered ). I cannot use the centre stand due to the deep brace of the swingarm gets in the way. Nothing's straight forward is it?

Scott

I've got a paddock stand that I used to use on my NS400R (I know its a H****a but I have seen the error of my ways) and I'm not a million miles away from you so your welcome to come over and give it a try. I'm sure that it could be modified quite easily if required.
