I've always thought the Triumph unit is an awkward size (bit big?) and thats why most go for the H***a s/sider... as like Murph's ELR/J :??

needs about inch and a half taken off to make it fit,but i want to keep it a three spoke to match front.was originally ment for my 05 plate z1000 but swaying towards 77 now if it can be done.its more for the alignment for chain.
if in doubt,streetfighter it.

A few of us have 180 section tyres... me, Ginger Bear, Murph... etc.

Having chatted with GB about his recent exploits, a 180 is near the tyre limit coz room runs out between the frame & the tyre alignment

Unless you wanna start hacking & welding the frame section adjacent to the drive sprox :??

Have a shufty in the projects section.

If you look at all the german streetfighters none of them are in line with the front they are all over to the right :?? But as most are built for show so don't spose it matters really how wide you go until you want to ride it!!!

If you think about widening the frame before yoy start cutting down the arm.
I think you may sort it, a lot of peeps start to cut swinger and run into clearance problems.
My frame is 30mm wider and i have loads of clearance for chain.
Who will be the first with a 300 rear on here? We all love a fat arse don't we.

Just re read this and went and had a look at my bike, Frame is no problem as it will just need jigging out.But with a 5/8 offset sprocket you will be hiting a 200 rear tyre, so you will need a bigger offset and outrigger bearing to match then sort the carrier out.
Easy, then you can sort the rest out next weekend.

From my own experience a 5/8 offset sprocket is the widest you can go before the chain hits the frame & a 180 rear tyre is the widest you can go if you want the wheel centrally mounted.
Frame widening would be required to fit anything wider... If you want to do it properly.
Speak to Talon re; offset sprockets. I'm sure they would make one with a larger offset, they made a special for me & Zed1015 (19t) at a reasonable price. Might need an outrigger, or poss use GPZ output shaft & bearings.
Good luck!

The profile of the tyre will make a difference - and I don't mean like 180/55 or 180/70 etc........

I had Batalaxes on the Zed originally... Now got Avon Vipers and they are actually a few mm wider, & me 630 chain just touches the tyre. Not a problem, but now there is slight signs of tyre/chain interface :|
