High rev start

#1 PostAuthor: pilgrimz1r » Mon Jun 02, 2008 11:02 pm

My 79' Z1R revs like mad on cold start 3750 ish RPM. I have tried using less choke but the bike will only start on full choke you can then immediately close the choke off to a suitable level and the bike warms up fine.
The carbs have been jetted with the correct jets, so I have been told ?
Is it the jet size or something else ?
Any advice welcome.

Pilgrim, If the bike runs OK when warm, don't touch the jetting/needles etc.

Some of 'em do rev a bit on start up :?? But its better to get the oil round quick (without loading engine) than to let it idle real slow
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
