Z1A Help required

Hi Guys not been back on here for a while as I have been away with work, anyway I have purchased an old Z1A to restore but it is proving to be a bit of a mare. Got all the body work bits but cannot identify the engine it has in it can you guys help?

engine number is as follows KZT000RE018057, I KNOW IT IS A z1000 MOTOR but which one?????
Z1000J, ZZR1400, RD400F, BMWM5.

I reckon its an A1, the number is most likely... KZT00AE018057
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

engine prefix is not correct you have either written it down wrong or its a dodgy enginge no

Hi

that is the one on the log book I will check on the engine tomorrow night and hopefully post some pics as well as the is an engine oil breather on the top of the cam covers that I do not recognise. Cam ends are slightly square but not like a Z1000j though but not rond like correct Z1A

square cam cover would be a z1000 mk2 or z1r d2 if it has hoses going to the cover its an imported bike & they are not breathers they are for the emisions

Yep Phil at ZPower has confirmed it for me its a Z1000Ltd from USA with the breather pipes coming off the cam covers.

Great chaps 5 star A1 knowledge as always.

will load up some pics this weekend on the build so far anyway so you can all have a look
Z1000J, ZZR1400, RD400F, BMWM5.
