Well I was told last week mine would not Pass with the front running lights connected, easy fix, but I suppose different MOT testers may interpret the rules differently ??

Further quote from UK motorbike test rule section 1-5

Amber lamps located within the indicator lamp must not adversely affect the operation of the indicator i.e. the indicator must go on and off to function not dim and bright.

This is ok with dual filament bulbs. 5/21 watt

whilst picking up the carbs today I asked about indicators and headlight, headlight is ok with a bit of tape on it, just as well as Z power have not got any, and the indicators are fine too, as the new European H**** monkey bike has a similar set up. :)

I`m having the same problem with the lights on my 1982 KZ1000LTD which I`m trying to get up to scratch to register here-the bike had been damaged in transit to the UK,getting hold of a replacement headlight was difficult as they`re only really available in the states.I did read on the web though that there was a european spec 1981 Z1000LTD. :!:

My old Suzuki GS1100GK had the indicators on all the time. The MOT station called me to say it would fail on these but they could disconnect them and they would pass it.

As I quite liked them, I went to reconnect them when I got home, to find they had just cut the wires

But you will get an advisory note on the MOT document.

Well mine failed, got to cut the wire it seems, it was a personal safety measure from the tester, I`ve not got a problem with it as its my personal safety he`s thinking of. :)
