just twist the brass tube with some pliers & it should come out

I am a bit loath to do that as it is 2 different diameters. How would it be secured in the aluminium body?

Paul, I am in Yorkshire, gonna take it to work to solder tomorrow as my soldering gear at home is a little "industrial".

The tube is two different diameters, within the bowl it is a 1mm smaller than the bit outside the bowl with the "bulb" for the overflow pipe on. it must be stepped.

the brass tube inside the bowl is not attached to the one on the outside they are two separate tubes & are pressed into the bowl
