I had exactly the same problem and one of these babies had the drain plug off in 5 seconds after me trying everything.
You'll probably need a fairly long breaker bar type handle to shift it, but they work brilliantly.
I bought just the expansion set of sockets by the way, one of them fitted perfectly, but if your nut is totally rounded, the smaller 16mm one might be better.

Great bit of kit, but I did have to replace my drain plug from ZPower though!

looks like you have lost a rod and have a problem with the small end bearing on no1 cylinder.

Weld a length of square section bar to whats left of the nut or even a new nut :?:

I'm known for my engineering help on this site....


You could take the engine out the frame,

Tip it upside down, prefereably on a chain pull arrangement.

Remove the oil filler cap and drain the oil through the filler hole.

Refit the engine in the frame and fill with new oil.

Job done, no real dramas!!

thanx for that but ive already done it now .............sods law eh!
i drilled the sump drained the oil sealed it with a self tapping screw and blu tac............................sorted :wink:
