Repro Loom Ignition 6pin connector

#1 PostAuthor: PAULJAC47 » Wed Jan 27, 2010 5:40 pm

Hi All just finishing installing my repro loom have noticed that the loom has a 6 pin input for the ignition switch 4 pins, the top 4 colours match but 2 pins are left empty, checked a mates original on his z1 and both ends are 4 pin! any one else noticed this? what are the two extra wires for in the loom?
Any input welcomed on this....Paul J..

You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter

PaulJac, I think you will find you have a Z1000 harness. It still may surfice though. Those extra wires are for that useless hazard relay. Check to see if there is provision on the harness for the (z1000/ z900) three-fuses box at the control panel. Also check the harness connector for the LHS switch block. That is probably a 6 pin connector too.
It may be "one harness fits all" combo, otherwise I would return and get a Z1 series replacement.
RegardZ.

The repro looms use the 6 pin but it will work ok with your 4 pin. Gez
