Z1000 Carbs

#1 PostAuthor: Tawkin » Sat Apr 28, 2012 5:23 pm

Hi all,

I'm after some carbs for a Z1000 A1/2. No's 2 & 3 are apparently no good (have a garage getting the bike road-worthy for me).

Anybody able to help?

Just missed a set on ebay for £64 which I don't think is a regular occurrence!

Hi Chris,
I've a set of mint ones taken off my A2 .
They've come back from a total rebuild by Oz at Zed Parts.
It was a no expense spared job, so unltrasonically cleaned, new seals, gaskets etc with choke & float heights set etc etc.
Oz is meticulous so they should be as near to new as you can get for a 30+yr old item.
They ran well on my bike before but I wanted them 100% but whilst they were being done I bought a set of smoothbores which I've since fitted so these are now surplus to requirement.
The only thing missing is the main jets as I changed those due to the engine being tuned.
All settings are standard - you'll just need to fit the main jets of your choice.

They may be out of your price range as I'm looking for £250 but let me know if you're interested anyway. I can send pics if you want.

All the best sorting your bike out in any case.

Cheers,
Hilton

Thanks for the responses.

Will see how the ebay ones get on (cheers Chris, don't know how I missed those) and report back.

Hilton, yours look very tempting but I'd rather not stretch that far just yet!

Hi Trevor.

Sorry 'bout getting your name wrong  (apologies to Chris too)

No worries - they're a bit pricey due to all the work.
Good luck with the other options & hope you get your Thou out for the dry weather.....whenever that may be!!!

Cheers,
Hilton

If you want the best.

About 4 years ago I nearly bought set A1 carbies (could be the same set???) off this seller for $400.00USD. hhhhhm.
