headlight brackets

#1 PostAuthor: mikey » Mon Feb 19, 2007 7:50 pm

Just put me forks together and fitted front end
to my Z1000A2 havent put the head light on yet
but the headlight brackets and the little shrouds
that fit over the ends of the bottom yoke seem
loose and swivel round quite easily made sure
all the rubbers etc are in place is this normal.
One point the top edge of the brackets up by the top
yoke were eaten away with rust and were jagged i
leveled this out with a file could it be that they are
now just to short?

Have you fitted top yoke and is there still "slack" :?:
Nail on the light see how you fare.
Still slack may stop with the beam adjustment bracket.
Still no go :?:
Maybe brackets are short.could shim it with another rubber :?:
if it fails you could either put up with the "buzz rattle" or go the expensive route with new items. But try the cheaper/easier option first :up
