Keyster Carb Kits

#1 PostAuthor: bollypne » Wed Mar 18, 2009 11:26 am

Hi All. Just fitted carb kits to my A4. Question. There was 2 o-rings in the kit. 1 obviously for the Air Screw. Now the other ring is approx 50% bigger than the 1st, but where the hell is it from. I've found no other o-rings, not even on the airscrew i replaced!

All help greatly received.

Just realised that i did not mean the Air Screw, though this does have an 0-ring, the smaller of the 2 provided is for the Drain Plug, the other which is 50% bigger is the one i'm asking about?

Cheers

Is it part of the needle valve assembly?though i thought there was a round fibre typewasher for that, also i know there were extra gaskets in my kit for the Z1A....maybe they are extras? :D

He Steve, did not seem to fit there. Main jet had a thin alloy washer, previous had a thin fibre washer.

Thanks

The choke/starter plunger is at the front of the carb with a black plastic boot on it and underneath that boot is the nut which is a 14mm spanner, undo that and the whole plunger can be withdrawn then you'll see the o ring.

how much for the keyster kit mate?

mine needs a new float valve so im replacing the 4. Seen an OEM kit from wemoto for a tenner. They reckon it includes the valve, seat, o-rings and gaskets. 'A complete kit' for each unit.

Am i right in thinking that the seat should have a fibre washer though? has this been replaced in the kit by an o-ring?

anyone ever bought on of these? whats the quality like etc? Z-power do one for £15 i think, might just go for theirs.

Andy do a search on the "search forum".
I'm certain there has been some posts on the quality of some of these kits.
In fact i think Mike [Dogsbollox] has posted about them.
