1973 Carburettor adjustment???

#1 PostAuthor: toycollector10 » Fri Nov 14, 2008 9:41 am

I have a 1973 Z1 engine number 16xxx. It has the early 28 mm carbies.

Rebuilt with Keyster kits. Has been run with the correct 5J9 jet needles (courtesy of Pigford, thanks mate), and the Keyster jet needles as well. NOS emulsifier tubes as included.

Needles are set at the middle setting.

The bike bogs when the throttle is opened.

Slow to warm up on the choke.

I'm thinking pilot jet size or air screw setting.

Help???

They do run rather lean on initial throttle opening..........
Could trys a set of 20 pilots (assuming they are 17.5)..... or raise needle a slot :|
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
