Dead Bike
The button wore out & was comming out of the housing. No issues with the electrics. I took the tank off removed the switch gear. Its a fiddle geting the spring & button back in so I must have created a short first time round. As I said I have a spark. it turns over but no go? Could the condenser have gone?

Anyone ever tried to ride their bike with the throttle working the wrong way round?Well i had to one winter morning a few decades ago.Jacs Z400J was sitting in the shed with a broken pull cable and my bike wouldn't start(not a Kawasaki)so needing to get to work i thought i'll swop the push and pull cables round, but i couldn't get the screws out of the right hand switch.Next move take tank off and swop cables at the carbs, job done.Gear on and off to work, just got to remember close throttle to go and vice versa anyway its only eight miles to work. Was going great till i had to throttle off for a give way, well i never realised how quick that wee bike could take off when closing the throttle quickly
.For the rest of the journey if i had the slightest doubt i just let the grip go till the brain worked out which way to turn it
.Drilled out screws when i got to work and swopped cables before i killed myself. Sorry if this is a wee bit off topic

Got the Rex, just the Kat to get now...

Many years ago a mate i know had a z550, he snapped the throttle cable when he was out so swopped it round but did it the wrong way, we were up at devils bridge at kirby lonsdale, big meeting place for bikes, the idiot pulled a wheelie, shut the throttle , but because it was wrong way round flipped the bike and crashed into about 5 parked bikes.
Was around the same time he went out in his dads ferrari and crashed that,
Cant really say who it was but his dad owned one of the biggest etate agencies round here, (millionaires), I belive he's now chairman off a championship football team,
