engine paint, remove or keep black?

#1 PostAuthor: PHILIP SHAW » Sat Aug 30, 2008 3:50 pm

hi, i've got a z1000 a2 and the top part of the engine has been previously painted black. i would like your advice on whether i should keep the engine black or remove it. the finish underneath is rough cast alloy, not polished.
thanks.

i would remove it.

paintstripper and a small toothbrush should do the trick but if doing it with engine still in frame, then mask off frame and other bits first!

I dis my engine on my z900 which had been painted all black. Nitromor paint remover and instead of a using tootbrush, use a one inch paint brush with the bristle cut down half way.
