Can I bypass the clutch cut out for starting the bike

#1 PostAuthor: Padders » Sat Jun 21, 2008 7:48 pm

Hi a question for all you leccy people out there in zed land. I am fitting ZRX front brake and clutch mastercylinders to my Z1000A2 and need to bypass the clutch activated engine start leccy thingamygig. I.E. I want to be able to start the bike without having to pull in the clutch lever. Or can anyone give me advice on wiring the ZRX one. It has 3 wires but mine has 2. The zrx one activates by releasing the plunger mine by depressing the plunger. Mick Rich Jack anyone some advice please.

Thanks

On the Zed the two wires are black? in reality its just a switch via the starter button wire,i think the connection is under the tank. Disconnect the cutout wire and make a straight connection. job done.
So you could dump the ZRX switch.

Cheers guys I'll go with the disconnect and bypass method so less wires coming up the handlebars. Recieved the hydrulic cltch slave cylinder from Falk in Germany yesterday excellent piece of kit and keeps the clutch casing looking standard.

Brucie, just link out the 2 black wires.
Get a short length of black wire and 2 female bullet collector crimps.
That way you don't have to cut anything should you ever want to go back to standard/original.

Will do Jack. I am keeping the standard clutch handle bar mount for future bikes so will need the wire one day. The mastercylinder though is up on e bay at the moment as I much prefer the ZRX1100 one.
