Oil filters, parts in general

#1 PostAuthor: Biggles » Fri Jun 06, 2008 8:46 pm

Hi
I have had my beloved Z1 for a year now, bought through this site from an awesome guy in Scotland.
I have carefully tried to improve bits & pieces and maintain the bike.
Where can I buy replacement oil filters, cables, lamps etc?
Sorry to seem so ignorant, but the WEB has so many options, I would rather some advice from this forum, as you guys led me to the bike when I was looking and I am simply over the moon with my Z

Biggles, glad you're enjoying the Zed mate

As for filters I get mine from a mixture of places... but usually Debbens  coz thats where I get me oil from too :P

But the usual places such as M&P, your local bike shop, eVilBay, etc

Just make sure you do the oil & filter regularly :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Personally I buy proper Kawasaki oil filters - still available to order through your local dealer.

As Rich says, buy genuine oil filters. They are not that expensive.
Lots of people on here use Z-Power for parts, including me. Good, fast service and give discount to club members.
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.

Did oil change, cannot get the Oil filter 14mm bolt to shift, no probs with the oil filter drain and engine drain.
Should I just buy a longer spanner and force it, the others where so easy?

Get a good quality socket and you can use a pipe on ratchet for leaverage . A spanner will probably round the bolt head off . Snap-On are worth it if you are going to do your own work .

Always use a 6 point socket to avoid rounding the hex head.
