FUEL TANK SEALER- HELP

I have come to the conclusion that I need to seal the tank on my 900 LTD, as dogs bollox did a wonderful job of cleaning and balancing the carbs and it ran like a dream for a couple of days and now its back to holding back and irratic running.
When I look into the tank there is like a brown light coating visable on the metal and this rubs off on my finger (oh matron!!) I think this is getting into the carbs and causing the problem.

So my question is do any of you recomend any tank sealer ( ive heard of Kream), what is the process!
Ps.I dont want it to harm the paintwork.

Petseal is another product.Frost restorers cata` has some other.
I`ve not used thembut a mate did after expensive respray and said tank got HOT but every thing turned out well except his underware.

iv used a product from frost resteration cant remember the name now think its P O R it very easy to used and worked well id use it again no probs ?25 for the kit

If the tank is sound but just corroded internally I'd recommend a chemical treatment done by VJMC big fish Steve Cooper - Watford based.
He chemically cleans then pickles the internal surfaces - better than a sealant coating and more original looking when you open the filler.
Can be pricey - definitely north of fifty quid - depends on extent of corrosion. He did my Suzi GT and has just done my 73 tank. Top man and a pofessional chemist by trade. No damage to paintwork.

I spoke to Steve about this treatment a few years back and he told me to clean the inside of the tank with washing powder to remove any old petrol.
The rust removal chemical will not clean the tank.
I ususally run a fuel filter as they are more easily cleaned/replaced than a set of carbs.
My mucker has got some of this expensive rust removal solution and I do my own tanks with great results
