Z1B headlamp shell

Hi,
I'm restoring a 1975 Z1B. I need to replace the headlamp shell.
Could anybody advise if the UK spec model had the hole in the top which was blanked off with a rubber grommet? Or should I not drill the new headlamp shell.

The UK spec one did have the hole on top with the rubber grommet :!:
