Z1 CAM CHAIN WEAR

#1 PostAuthor: PAULJAC47 » Sun Nov 01, 2015 8:56 pm

Guyz whats the best way of determining cam chain wear ona z1b motor, seem to recollect some way of measuring between 20 links but cant find the info.i know a rough way is to see how much the adjuster has left on it.Pretty sure will be ok though at 30k miles.Any thoughts?

You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter

I think it's the same as the Z1000 which is hang a 5kg weight on the chain and then measure over 20 links pin to pin.
standard is 155.48 - 155.71 service limit is 157.8

How far the chain bends sideways is a good indication of the extent of pin wear.
