MkII Number on frame

#1 PostAuthor: nicomkii » Fri Aug 21, 2015 7:25 am

In addition to the frame number on the headstock my frame also has a 4 digit number stamped on the RH side of the frame where the engine bracket bolts onto and also holds the rear brake switch. ( Red arrow)
Now this number does not correspond with the last digits in the frame number nor the engine number. It is only on the RH side and not left. Anyone have any ideas ?

Solved. Dragged out the old Police Special Speedo from the box to show someone yesterday and noticed 4 numbers stamped on the speedo. They matched the numbers stamped on the frame so obviously a register number or something from its days as a Police bike.
