Fitting Z1B Tail and Side Panels

#1 PostAuthor: Mark O'Shea » Tue Jul 07, 2015 9:55 pm

Hi All,
Can anyone let me know if it is possible to fit a Z1B Tail piece and Side panels to the later Z900 A4, hopefully with little or no mods required.

Many thanks,
Mark.

Tail piece will fit easily but you will need the oval tail light + bracket but the side panels will not fit :!:

Agreed.

I know of Guyz that have modified the frame to take the side panels.

The top two mounting points for the side panels are about right.

It's the lower one that needs to be moved.

You do get into trouble around one of the top ones at the seat key-lock.
You might be better painting the Z900-a4 side-covers to match tank & tail, then fitting "DOHC900 " badges to them.

+1 the rear of the left hand panel clashes with the lock - you`d need to alter the side panel before painting.

I have been thinking about doing this to one of my bikes, you also need two Z1 rear engine mounting brackets (which have the side panels lower mounting point). Also cut off the mounting point to underside of battery to the left.
