Z1100ST Grab Rail...

#1 PostAuthor: hahughson » Mon Feb 02, 2015 10:33 pm

Hi folks,

I'm looking for a Grab Rail for a Z1100ST or if that's not possible, is there anyone local(ish) with one that I could borrow to get one made?

Thanks,
Hamish

Hamish
I am not too far away, and have one you can copy.
I have Hepco and Becker pannier frames fitted at the moment, so the grab rail is off the bike already.

Grab Rail.

#3 PostAuthor: Aztec Warrior » Tue Feb 03, 2015 10:30 am

I too have been asking/looking for a grab rail. I'm told maybe the 'J' or later type will also fit. The early curved type wont clear the ST's boxy rear I'm told to. Even better for me would be a rack of some sort. I've no luck finding anything yet. Adaptation of something else may be the way for me.

Hi hamish, if you don't go down the copying root , then keep checking ebay (you'll get 1 within a couple of weeks).
Cheerz freddy :D

ps Al, I don't think the 1100st will fit
contact 1 of the 1000st lads such as vendetta or redbeard, I think they have some spare parts.

Hi all, I don't have much now in the way of spares, just a tail piece for the ST I think. The grab rail is indeed different, just a left hand side handle rather than the loop design on others. Vendetta may be able to help with a grab rail for the ST.

Aztec, the grab rail from a 1000J or GPz is about the same dimensions as the 1100A Shaft drive, but is about 1.5 inches wider.

Hamish, I also have a tail rack for the 1100A if you wanted to copy that.

Hi folks,

I've been keeping an eye on ebay from time to time, but they seem rare for the Z1100ST?

doebay & Freddy thanks for your offers, I've contacted a couple of local engineering firms and am currently waiting for them to get back to me...

Regards,
Hamish

German Ebay is a good place to look for 1100ST parts, I think the bike was a lot more popular there.I found my Hepco Becker boxes and frame there.
However I have just looked and cannot find a grab rail on there.
