Guyz just fitted new 530 chain conversion to Z thou,supplied with Aeroquip front nut,have read Debbens torque these to 75 ft Lb,s as there is no locktab what are other opinions on this?...PaulJ

First time i have used one of these nuts Steve, i take it its a fit once item due to theb triangular pressings on the outer?

Sounds like the sort of nuts used on aircraft. The triangular pressing on the top of the nut slightly deform the thread, making it tight when the nut is fully threaded onto it's mating bolt/stud.
Just follow the fitting instructions, but if it really bothers you, you could apply a little low strength Loctite, but really there shouldn't be any need for this.

don't the sprocket nuts on the gpz 1100 use a similar method
dragracing, because it takes more than one ball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reckon these are used in Aircraft!,nipped it up to 75ft ibs seems much better to me than the tab washers, so do Debbens! dont fancy taking it off though

that's the same shape as the one they gave me at cradley which they said fitted the gpz shaft
