But the A2 number never started untill 042501, which makes the above number an A1.
Are you saying that the A1 only sold 4018 units worldwide Steve, or am I missing the point, or have you missed a number out?
1978 Z1000-A2
FRAME NUMBER: KZT00A-027501 >
ENGINE NUMBER: KZT00AE-042501 >
thats what it says in themodel recognition manual unless the book is printed wrong as i have looked again maybe they got a digit wrong and it should be
KZT00A040018 ???? NOT
KZT00A004018 CERTAINLY LOOKS BETTER
4018 is the start number for models made in America.
Ian your number refers to an A1 or B1 ltd, A2s start at 040605, The A1 should have a nylon thread to the clutch actuation mechanism, I think this is the only difference engine wise between them, but if people have any sense they've replaced it with a later "ball" mechanism. Z1Rs are D1s and have a D in the number instead of the A in AE.
Which is all irrespective really but you may buy me a pint for it!
