Engine Chain Sprocket

What do I do to stop the chain sprocket spinning while I tighten up nut!
Just purchased a 1976 UK Z900 A4 for renovation. Wish me luck.
Bike now finished what a joy!

Put the chain on and press on the back brake.

Chains not long enough bike in the garage and engine in the shed!
Just purchased a 1976 UK Z900 A4 for renovation. Wish me luck.

Bike now finished what a joy!

put the sprocket on when you fit it to the frame.

That's a possibility. I kept the old chain so should be able to join them together!
