wire loom
has anyone got any good illustrative information on the main wiring loom. I have mine all laid out and cleaning each individual part and just need a little help identifying which bits go together.
Pictures would be good!

Just purchased a 1976 UK Z900 A4 for renovation. Wish me luck.

OK thanks i was hoping someone might have some pictures of the wiring loom stretched out so i could simply identify for that.
mine is pretty much in tact but where i have stripped off so much tape on top of tape its lost its shape a little.
I will have a look at the connectors for the codes.

Ok guys i spent the weekend on my wiring harness and pretty much resolved most things. can anyone offer advise on the following
Where the brake failure indicator bracket and switch located?
I have a 3 pin plug that has nothing attached.
The cables are orange, green and grey cable and i think it must be for the hazards which i'm not sure were ever fitted?
I have a solid blue cable and a blue and white cable with male plugs on the end. Any ideas.
The cables that go to the rear brake light pedal switch are connected but there is a brown and red cable that don't appear to have ever been used and an orange cable with a female spade connector that has no home.
Your help as always would be much appreciated.

brake failure switch is fitted to the left hand coil mounting
3 pin block connector with orange / green / grey/ is for the indicator buzzer (not fitted)
the orange/ brown / red are for the hazard relay if it has hazards fitted?
blue & white not used
if the blue wire is coming from your r/h switch it is connected to the headlight resister which is bolted to the top of the r/h coil

headlight / ballast resister should look like this but it has more than likely been removed & bypassed. if you don't have the resister you should have a blue wire coming out of the harness close to the coils ? connect this blue to the blue coming from the r/h switch. the brake failure switch has an L shaped bracket attached to it & it just sit's under the 6mm nut that secures the coil to the frame
what the resister looks like? only for illustration purposes this is a 750 twin & the resister has been mounted in the wrong place

Just checked and I am a little confused. The wire loom from the L/H has a blue cable with a male bullet connection and a blue cable with a twin female bullet connection.
The wire loom from the R/H side has one blue cable with a male bullet connection. I connected the 2 male connectors into the twin female thinking they would make a circuit.
Is this right? If so where does the other blue cable fit from the main loom.
Sorry just need to clear this up.
Can you advise the route the cables take from the main loom across to the rear brake units ?
