KZ1000 st engine mtg bolts

#1 PostAuthor: jacobmarley » Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:50 pm

Can anyone please advise, I tried to remove the front engine mtg bolt that goes right across the engine, after taking the nut off the one end the head of the bolt started to give as if it was about to shear, tried to tap it out from thread end but could not budge it. Engine was hot. Is it corroded in or is there a spline or something in there. Any advice appreciated. Regards Pete.

try applying a dismantling fluid first around the bolt on/around castings as this can corrode badly due to road salt etc.
Let it soak in then try again may work.Heat application may help(but if all is spanky etc thats a no,no.
At the death you may have to hack saw it off(had to do this once to a z650)
