Stripped thread question

#1 PostAuthor: Redbeard » Sat Jun 08, 2013 1:23 pm

I bought a pair of completely rebuilt nissins on ebay, advertised as ready to bolt on, bleed and job done. All fine until I came to fit the r/h/s and the upper bolt went straight through. On close inspection the thread is stripped.
They took bloody ages to arrive cos the bloke appears to sell refurbished calipers, then buy/build them and then send em out.
What do you reckon, can I get them helicoiled or return them? I haven't left feedback or anything yet, I just want an easy solution and my bastard bike on the road. Thanks!

Helicoil should be fine, but I'd have a word with the seller & ask that he pays for it.

Thanks GB, I hope we can solve the issue without having to send them back! I will keep you posted, I've let him know.
