I took off my V&H sidewinder exhaust from my black zed today(sold to a club member)
Whilst I had the pipes off I started the bike up as it hadnt been started for a few weeks ( dont know why- just wanted to

When I looked into the exhaust ports, I noticed that there were quite a bit of fire coming out around the valves Is this normal ??
#1 & #4 were really "orange" around the valve & shooting flames out about 2", but #2 & 3 did not look to bad & no flames shooting out. I was going to take a video, but I didnt fancy getting my face burnt off !!
I am thinking it may be down to valve timing, but without adjustable sprockets
how can this be adjusted ?
Or could it be down to valve clearances.
The bike has standard cams fitted & wiesco pistons
Any pointers ??
