Does anyone know what the best tappet clearance to set a std z1000a1 ( I have been told they run better on a little bit wider setting ) cheers
Clearances
The good book says you need to set the gaps at 0.10mm. Minimum gap is 0.05mm. I'de go with the larger setting (0.10mm). As things wear in the engine gaps tend to tighten up so setting up at 0.10mm allows for a little wear. Whether or not setting up with larger clearances is beneficial I don't know, but I doubt it. The only reason I can think of where you may need to set things differently is if you have modified the engine ie. high lift cams.
