To Rock or Not to Rock that ....

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Mon Jul 30, 2012 12:08 pm

For my money the Ray Jones Band were absolutely fantastic this year and the second set was mind blowing, made better by the wind having dropped. A few of us even made a dreadful attempt to dance - I sooo hope no one was sober enough to use a camera that late into the night !! I think those of us committing crimes against dance were probably fairly safe  Sadly two thirds of the rally goers decided they couldn't bear to be parted from the beloved bar and missed the second set. Maybe my drunken efforts on the mic in the interval doing the raffle and trophies drove them away

Bottom line is that this is a democratic club, and I want to ensure that everyone has a good time. Bringing the band indoors doesn't work as you can't hear yourself think. I can't imagine we could find a better band - they played all the right stuff to a very high standard!

So the question is do we have a band in future years or not? If not the ride out could go to an interesting place that has an entry fee such as a museum of enginy type things as an alternative and we could have a rock disco either by the brazier or even in the skittle ally. Another alternative would be to have no entertainment save booze and very cheap tickets, but I think that would spoil it!

Joyce and I had a great time. Thanks Ralph and Marion. They knew how to belt out the crowd pleasers and not just the HM classics like Rosie. Teenage Kicks by the Undertones got us going and Blur as well - PARK LIFE!!!
