Z1000 MKII throttle valve clearance - advice needed.

#1 PostAuthor: njwmct » Sun Oct 16, 2011 9:42 am

My workshop manual suggests setting the throttle valve clearance (Slide Height) for initial carb balance with a 0.7mm dia wire - but this relates to the z1000 A2.

The Mark II has cut-outs at the bottom of the slides so:

Does anyone know what the clearance should be?

& where do you measure the clearance from ?

I wouldn't get too hung up on this point. Just set the stop so you can see a fraction of light thru them and once the bikes running then you can set the idle.

Balancing is more of a concern
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Mark is correct
Some like to set the gaps evenly on the carbs before fitting to the bike
