Trying to decide what oil to use in my J3 is it best to use a 10/40 semi synthetic or just a 10/40 mineral based oil? Any advice greatly received.

I use this in the 1170 J1. No complaints so far and none of the drawbacks of semi.
It also has all the right numbers and spec standards! Its JASO MA as well twice in fact.

Lomi, I run 10/40 semi in my 1105 J2 and have had no issues. Some years ago (prior to last rebuild) I was running mineral and even with HD clutch springs was getting clutch slip in top over 7k rpm....urm.....that's 68mph right....
I replaced clutch fibre plates at last rebuild although they looked and measured up fine AND switched to semi at same time. No more clutch slip.......
So not sure if the semi oil or the plates did it..but I am 100% semi these days.
