Differences in Electronic Ignitions

#1 PostAuthor: PAULJAC47 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 8:22 pm

Hi all,Been tring to find out for a few weeks now the differences in Electronic Ignitions, as could be fitted to my 1981 z1000j,at the mo it has the boyer branden system fitted runs fine but revs count double, the rev counter picks up its signal i believe from 1-4 coil i am told it reads double due to the wasted spark system but what is foxing me is surely with its original system that would also be a wasted spark and would have read correct? also i am told the Dyna S would read correct if fitted .puzzled as to differences ?,boyer will modify my original rev meter to read corectly, but the jury is out as i may upgrade to the Dyna as i have with my B, Any Advice appreciated...Paul J..

Dyna S is a good bit of kit, generally more robust & reliable than the over complicated, delicate Boyer stuff.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
