Z650's never had flatslide carbs so google source of info must have a mis-print . Strange??. Otherwise set up and operation would more or less be the same but that is insignificant anyhow as you have the correct std roundslide carbs for your machine.

Bshaw, will check everything as I go, full service on the cards too, something always do when I get a new un, don't think the valve timing is at fault though, from experience it seems like a fuelling problem, (have had similar with electricals but batterys new and everything appears OK that side)

you're looking at £100 a clock Mick, you may be lucky with a set, i tried 3 clocks, all knackered mate. but you never know.
