Spoken to Dave now, knowledgeable chappy he is too
He can check the crank alignment & re-set, then weld for ?250.
For another ?30 he'll also replace the end plain bearing with a roller bearing
Its a bit more than I can raise at present, so will have to put it on hold until I've paid off a few other bits I've already ordered
