Ready for paint.

#16 PostAuthor: Monk » Wed Oct 15, 2008 8:13 pm

Just a few pics, me old Zed is ready to go for paint.

Still not sure what colour, but probably bright red metallic with silver A2 stripe kit.

The last pic is a poster on my garage wall from the 83 Tokyo show (I had a little Japaneese mate back then and he got it for me), as you can see it is Mr Crosby on the Yoshimura Suzuki.

Note it is signed by Croz on the right, and even better signed by old man Yoshimura on the left !

Don't know why I posted this pic, I just thought some of you may find it interesting.

So that's nice.

Yes Guy, I didn't think anyone on here would want a set of old pattern ones.

Why do you ask ?

Well, things have moved on a bit.

I found a snapped bolt in one of the fork legs when I took the mud gaurd off, and one thing led to another.

Next thing I know the front end is pretty much off, fork lowers and top yoke are going for polishing, new stainless bolts and bits and bobs have been bought, front wheel has been stripped and cleaned, clocks have been cleaned and re-mounted properly.....so the front end is coming on.

Exhaust is off to be re-painted black so that will look a bit better.

I am starting to think there is no rush to get this old girl back on the road, so this may turn into a bit of a winter total tidy up.......better get me credit card ready !

No pics cos me camera's gone wrong
