Fantic Chopper!! Oh my god I can see what you mean. I was hoping to find and dust off my old Bell Star 1 (cool) when I get on the road but it sounds as if I may have to look for an old Griffin Speedstar (dorky) on ebay !
I will see what it all looks like when I get it out and stand back.....I can always slide it all down a bit.
The Pipe is from PMC via good ole' Z power.
They do 3 variations of tail end; long can, short can, and Yosh' style straight.
I had to cut and shut the pipe under the centre stand brackets though (gulp) because it lay too flat to start with.
It is a lovely pipe finished beautifully with, I think, titanium flange clamps. The downpipes have that lovely hand bent looking sweep as opposed to 'straight between the bends' on most mass produced pipes.
Not cheap though!
Uhh? I dont even know what CDS tube is!
I just used some steel tube that was kicking around. It is all bonus strength and I reckon something is better than nothing to help beef up the frame. I did braze some critical joints though because MIG/TIG is more liable to fracture around the actual weld edge and it is worth trying to avoid that.

She's looking fabulous.
I'm at a similar stage with mine and I just can't wait to fire her up, I guess you too must be finding concentrating on making a living very difficult at this stage!
All your mods are very tasteful!

Ralph. you are correct it is difficult keep walking past the bike during the day....but you can bet that the if I were to pick up a piece of Kawasaki somebody is going to walk straight into my workshop that second, think I have been working on it all day, and make me feel bad so I have to just leave well alone!
I have now got my carbs nearly ready to fit and I am pleased with the tidy up operation on the manky old Raask rear sets. I have hacked them about and polished a few bits up and I reckon they look Ok on the gear linkage side now. I had to make a new brake pedal the other side and it is still at the chrome platers.
I have also now modified a chain slider and fitted it to the swinging arm because the 530 pitch sprockets are smaller diameter than the original 630 and it has scoffed up all the clearance between swinger and my goldy lookin chain.

Steve, hope you're going to the York Rally, coz I'm desperate to see this babe in the flesh.....
As for those Raask r/sets, thats the first time I've ever seen a sexy pair, why Raask couldn't do that, I don't know
Real credit to you mate, it really is a prize winner in my book

Pigford....I'm really glad you like the bike
It looks better in the flesh because the paint has some life which doesn't show in the pics and the photos aren't really doing the whole thing any justice.
If you mean me in the quote above going to the York Rally with this Z1A - its a bit out of my way so I won't be there - but I will try to get to the Ace Cafe on the 20th April with my mate who has a wicked modified Z1000.....(Oh - and I'm Paul, not Steve for the record) I am hoping my mate will post some pics of his bike for you because you will love it.
I am chuffed the effort with the rearsets has been worthwhile.

I'm glad you're going to the Ace Paul. I too really want to see your bike and assuming I haven't wrecked my engine I'll be there as well. I'll prolly ride down with Mark.
