K1 LTD Forks
After having my not so local bike shop do the repairs for the mot they renewed the fork seals and oil, I gave them some 15w oil, but on collection they had put in 10w, now after a few miles I am finding the forks are bottoming out all the time, would increasing the thickness of oil be enough ?, when I had my Sportster I put a socket in the top to preload it more.
What's everyone else doing ?.

Older bikes did have heavier oil - and it did effect the damping characteristics.
The spring rate is different to oil damping, but a heavier oil may well help. You can even get clever and blend oils to fine tune
My Triumph Speed Twin is supposed to have 20W oil in the forks (190ml each) but lots of people use 30W coz the front end is a bit soft. The level also has some effect.
