Paint
Hi
Can anyone let me know the best place for a re spray on a Z1B.
It must be not too far from Bedfordshire and not a stupid amount of money if such a place exists?
I have been quoted £712 from Dream Machine nearly the same money as a set of panels and tank already painted.
Any info would be appreciated.

A guy up near me (sean = a former dream machine employee) is charging £380 for , 2 large mudguards, 2 side panels and tank (all z1100st). He's already done a few bikes on here.
My advice is shop around locally, check out the quality of there work, have they got experience in the type of job you're after, what's there time scale and of course the price.
you might be pleasently surprised at what you unearth

paint set is one of the main things people look at when checking a bike over for originality, in my opinion its better not to take a chance on it, go for tried and tested.
I DONT CARE, IN OR OUT BUT IM ENJOYING THE DEBATE......................ARMSTRONG MT500. a pushbike, waves.....addict, no offence
I am about to send my Paint set off to Hutchy.

Hutchy has been the painter of choice for many members. His attention to detail & knowing where the lines should go, have now become legendary.

When it comes back from Dream Machine it will look like you spent £7.12 and your mum did it in the dark.
Cheers,

My advice is buy new.forget patching old panels up with cra ked lugs etc & old tanks with filler in.then theres the time it takes .good painters are always booked up.hutchy some times has a paint set u can swap for your own plus cash if its origi al colours u want.z power stock em as well & theres a site on here as well.or just try webike etc
Tend to agree with selling original set and buying new one.that is unless you want something a bit diff.....

No seriously.

+1 but not completely 100% happy with Doremi set.
Main reason I did the buy new was the color match for the MkII Luminous Dark Blue which they do perfectly. However the pinstriping isn't the best on the joins. Will post pics tomorrow when I get home from Nightshift. Have got someone who will strip back the clear and match up the join but all extra $$$.
That still leaves me a complete MkII set plus painted front guard to play with / sell. How do you go shipping used fuel tanks ?
