I am intending to get my z900-a4 rims rechromed. Can I re-use the existing spokes which seem pretty perfect?
Any help on this welcome.
Thanks

the easy answer is YES.
if your spokes are in good condition they will be fine to use.
Do you have a wheel builder local to you?
AlJones, if your tyres are still on, you will not know the condition of your rims & nipples. Often, when you strip off the tyre and remove the rim-tape, you can find a lot of rust and corrosion of the rim and nipples.
This is just to prepare you for the worst. Also weigh up the cost of new DID 40 spoke rims (they have be come quite affordable now), before committing them to be chromed. Further, SS spokes and nipples are the way to go these days. (about $100 a set). Be careful when you remove your existing spokes you will probably burr-up or damage the existing nipples.... They do get tight and hard to remove.
Of course, if all is well, go ahead as planned. To have good spokes re-zinced is pretty cheap nowadays!

I am not aware of any wheel builder near Aylesbury but if anyone knows one that would be great. I have a spare front takasago rim which I am going to have rechromed, don't have spare rear though might buy as garn suggests a DID rear to keep bike on road while originals sorted out. Thanks all.
Don't do what I did once, many years ago..... Purchased a "new old stock" Takasago 19" rim and took it to a wheel-builder with hub and spokes, only to find out it was a 36 hole wheel from a "Suzuki". The wheel-builder was half way thru the preliminary spoke fitting, when he realised!

I've used Hagons in the past and they're not a million miles away - or post them off ?

Ah never considered wheels may differ, as I bought the rim off e-bay and it was advertised as a Z900 Wheel. Will check markings against wheel fitted to my bike, and off fails will count spokes!!
