That's a nice engine Gary sounds like a bit of a monster!
I have had a PM from someone who has just fitted a GPz1100 engine in a Harris frame and am going to explore this option first as it is a lot less hassle, thank you everyone for your help of offers. Really appreciate it.
If anyone needs a hand down here or a bed for the night please let me know

Here's my bro in laws harris it's an early frame with a gpz engine. Has an extra mount welded on the crankcase at the lower rear mounting point.Lives in Sydney might be coming up for sale soon as he's emigrating back to blighty

Why is he going back, I know a few people who are due to making a fortune on the exchange rate, when we moved here 10 years ago it was $3 to the quid, its now $1.9 and going up, has been as low as $1.4. The couple down the road from us are in their mid 50's, they have made a few bob on houses and are selling up and moving back to the UK, they are going to buy a narrow boat and a flat, use the boat in the summer and have the flat as a base for exploring Europe in the winter! When they exchange their money back they will be loaded!
He'd get over $20K for the Harris if he sells it down here, they are like hens teeth. Have you anymore pictures of the engine mounts, think this is the way to go.

Think he's bored of the sun and golden beaches. No pics of mount sorry. The gpz needs the extra mount to stop it twisting in the frame. It is a race 1230 race engine so loadsa power. He sold both his p&m's and mine is there to. Won't be any left in the UK soon
Vic
I think I mentioned earlier that I originally built a Harris with a Z900 engine back in 1978. Turbo'ed it, melted the pistons and then, some time around '83 I bought a Gpz1100 B2 and simply swapped the engines over. Apart from making up the odd spacer, I don't recall having to do anything special at all.
I slung the turbo on another Gpz 1100 and melted the pistons on that as well

Thanks Gary,
The plot thickens, don't know why they are telling me t can't be done and I'd be better buying a new frame from the importer in AUS. The problem being you can't rego them for road use hence buying a frame build prior to 1989 that can be, I have the certificate to do this!
I'm going to ring them anyway
