GPZ750R1 Oil Cooler

#1 PostAuthor: GPRD » Thu Jan 16, 2014 3:44 pm

I'm having problems with getting an oil cooler that is useable, the problems I'm having are the threads are either stripped, or it leaks from somewhere else, but, my question is, if I blank the hose holes up on the engine temporarily, until I get a useable cooler, will that cause a problem with oil circulation?
Cheers

Have you looked at a cooler for a ZR750 Zephyr, probably the same, I wouldn't blank off the cooler personally, it is there for a reason.

Thanks for the replies.
I was onl;y going to block it off temporarily, so I could getting it running properly while sorting the cooler.
I'm not sure about the GPZ1100 cooler, I've already had the frame powder coated, so I don't want to have to fit any new brackets, and it has different fittings to the 750, but it is an option, thanks.

Do you have a picture and dimensions of the cooler and I will compare it to my 750 Zephyr cooler if it helps.

You won't hurt the engine by disconnecting the cooler ( especially with our weather  )
But DO NOT just blank off the take offs or you will cut off the oil supply and wreck your engine.
You MUST link the take offs with some hose so that the oil can still circulate.
